Hotel School Prestige

Hi everyone. I’m wondering about Hotel School’s prestige comparing to prestige of coming from Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT or Stanford.

I know prestige isn’t very important in making a big decision, but my friend and I are debating about this and I thought it would be nice to hear some opinions.

Basically, is HYPSM more prestigious than Hotel School? I know Hotelies have a very strong and high job placement (maybe more than the students in five schools, (with exceptions of course to different studies)).

As far as hospitality schools go, Cornell’s is number one in the U.S. The other Ivies aren’t even on the list. It’s one of the best in the world. If you are going to school for hospitality, Cornell is definitely the way to go.

Well what do you think? If you were hiring, would you rather a student from Harvard who graduated with a liberal arts degree and no hotel administration and no experience in something related? Or a student who graduated from a college of similar caliber with a degree relate to hotel administration?

Don’t put that much thought into it.

You’re the person that kept on asking about likely letters! And now you’re asking “who would you rather hire” questions. I’m guessing you’re the student posting and not the parent (just a heads-up, technically not allowed) but it’s kind of like comparing apples and oranges because the other schools don’t even have hotel management programs.

lol @Coriander23‌ I was the person asking about likelies! I’m sorry, i’m just in a debate with my friend, so I thought i would come the CC source! Thanks everyone!
