Cornell Masters in Electrical engineering

Hi, I have a few questions. I just finished my first semester of my junior year in electrical engineering...woohoo! I go to SUNY Binghamton, and I have a cumulative gpa of 3.8, with a major gpa of 3.9. I would like to apply to Cornell for a masters degree but obviously they're competitive.

-Are they less likely to accept me coming from a SUNY school?
-Although I know that research is important, I have one summer of internship experience. Will this be looked at favorably? Or do they really only care about research experience? note I am planning on doing research this summer and my professor has referred me to somebody that may let me help him with research at school so hopefully that pans out.
-How much do they take extracurriculars into account? I am a resident assistant, and also I am also on the executive board of the EE honor society.
