Cornell or Florida State?

I'm scared to apply to Cornell, but do I have a very good chance of getting in? I want to apply to CAS for a major in Biology.

I want to apply to Cornell's CAS for ED, but I don't know if I have a chance.... I don't want to not be able to get into FSU's honors program by submitting it later than ED. I'm totally lost. Which should I apply to as ED?

Do I stand a good chance with early decision for the upcoming year?

Have you toured both campuses? Do you have a favorite? How are both in terms of the GLBT scene? I think both Cornell and FSU Honors will give you a strong education with other strong students. The average incoming freshman SAT scores at Cornell are a bit higher than FSU honors but not by too much and that’s just one indicator of the company you will keep. I’ma ssuming you’re looking forward to next year so retake the ACT to see if you can get a 33-34. The competition to get into Cornell was very strong this year and many strong students (including my S) did not get it but were accepted to honors colleges instead.

My Mom went to FSU and it is a beautiful sunny warm campus with a vibrant social scene compared to Cornell, where I’m guessing most kids stay indoors and study all winter. However, I think Cornell (being ivy league) will open more doors for you down the road. I would do ED for Cornell and EA for FSU. Plus, you get to click the Latin American box which is huge.

Thank you so much! Both of these answers helped me out. I’ll do just that, and let you all know how it works out. :)
