Hi, I posted this earlier in the Cornell forum and I will do the same here to be fair. Where would you go in you got into RPI(with a half scholarship) and Cornell University? Please be honest and sincere

RPI:
Pros: Cost, Small Size, Teachers offer more Support, Great reputation for engineering.
Cons: Location (Troy sucks), Male-Female ratio, Not an Ivy.

Cornell:
Pros: Ivy League, Top 10 Engineering School, Cornell has plenty of females (even if they're not in the engineering shcool), Location.
Cons: Cost, Much less support than RPI, Weather.

Both are terrific engineering schools, however, Cornell's Ivy reputation might help you more IF you can handle the work there. If money is a huge concern, you can't go wrong with RPI.

What major?

sorry i havent been home for a long time. i want to major in engineering (not 100% sure what division but probably biomed or chemcial)

weather is about the same in both places, no?

Besides that, Cornell's pros is that its bigger and more known, and also social life there is probably much better.

RPI's pros is the incredibly supportive environment. But only come here if you're gonna do a science or engineering.

How is cost for RPI considered to be a "Pro"?? Tuition itself has gone up 7% to $31,000 for next year, and incoming freshmen should expect to pay at least $45k total with the meal plan, residence hall, and laptop purchasing requirement. The only thing going for it, is that RPI likes to give out merit scholarships, like the medal

Yea RPI does rape you with the fees.

is that 45k b4 or after the half merit scholarship

most definitely before or I'd never go

yeah thats before, the rpi medal reduces it to about $30k
