<p>hey guys i'm trying to decide between UT plan II and Cornell. I'll be doing econ/psych, so what do you guys think? Does anyone know if cornell has a good music program? because I know that UT's music sucks lol.</p>

<p>I live in Austin and one of my best and smartest friend is going to UT plan 2. It is an excellent program.</p>
<p>However, Cornell in terms of prestige and education value trumps plan 2 by a long shot. It's well known, at least at my school, that very few brilliant people go to plan 2 (most are just bright, good kids). At Cornell, you will definitely get your fair share of briliant people.</p>
<p>I also have a good friend who was just accepted to Cornell as a composition major. The Cornell music department is essentially the head professor's (don't know his name, but he won the pulitzer last year) pet project, but I've heard if you like him, it is incredible.</p>
<p>by the way, I'm going to Cornell, so I'm partial. Also, living in Austin makes me naturally uninterested in UT.</p>

<p>Cornell- a UT degree (even plan II) is too common in Texas. You need something that will set you apart from the pack.</p>
