The lowest ranking for all of the Ivy League at #70. why oh why?!

i saw that too. that’s so terrible! why?!

USNWR ranks it well though, but i’m scared that this year Brown will surpass it.

Johns Hopkins is #88

Forbes makes US News look reputable.

forbes probably considered cost?

I knew I should’ve picked Wofford over Cornell

Their criteria are absurd. 17.5% of the score attributed to information gathered on RateMyProfessor? You’ve got to be kidding me. Don’t take this ranking seriously, please.

Man, maybe I should have picked Williams over Cornell…

just kidding, i <3 the big red.

williams isnt terrible?

not cool, cornell is still in top 100. i prefer if its like 100+ so i can tell people i go to a top 1000 school

better than 202 or whatever it was before

i can’t believe you even look at these rankings. their criteria is absurd and clearly unprofessional. if you believe that cornell is the 70th best school in the country there is something wrong with you. i may be biased, but i don’t think cornell is even as low as 14th (from US news). these rankings are a joke and are attacked by credible sources every single year.

the OP probably doesn’t refer to these regularly. he/she probably came across it by chance on the Yahoo homepage, just as i did.

I agree that this rating doesn’t make much sense. Cornell is significantly worse than Boston College?

I think a lot of the college experience is based on what you learn from your fellow students. Part of what makes Cornell great is the really strong and diverse student body that exists. this leads to a high quality educational experience inside and outside of the classroom. And that student body is far more accomplished as a whole than many of the schools that have ranked higher than Cornell.

Curious as to what their criteria are…

From [America’s Best Colleges on Shine](http://shine.yahoo.com/event/backtoschool/americas-best-colleges-2293942/)

worst criteria ever.

definitely agreed.

The only thing this list can be considered “good” is for a laugh. If you take a look at some of the comments on the original picture by picture article, there is a plethora of evidence proving so. That Forbes, which has a fairly good reputation, would attach its name to this garbage is pathetic. Cornell is NOT the 70th best college in the country and very few colleges can make a legitimate argument at being in the same overall class of Cornell. Ugh, Forbes, you can give up the whole shock journalism thing.

This ranking is horrible and fabricated. Honestly, Williams College as the best school in the USA? Lol.

If you look at more credible college rankings you’ll find more realistic placements of schools. For example in the one produced by USNews, Cornell is ranked 15th, with HPY ranked 1st, 2nd, 3rd in that order.

Its a ridiculous ranking system…I think they just randomly draw a name out of a hat.
