Cornell - Residency status - request- currently non NY resident

My daughter is awaiting the RD results this evening for the Bioengineering in CALS.
She got into
UCSD ($55k as OOS)
UIUC ($47k as OOS)
Boston University ($64k/yr, 10k Scholarship, 5k Loan)
SUNY Stonybrook ($27k/yr, 10k sholarship - this is damn good money wise)
Uconn ($22k/yr 5k scholarship)

Will choose cornell if she is lucky.

We are residents of CT. If she gets into CORNEL we are planning to buy our home in NY and move there for good (still will be working in CT).

If we buy a place in NY and move for good, will we be treated as a NY resident and will get that NY resident fees which is 16k less than the non-NY resident. (the total fee for 2013-14 is $61.5k)

Please advice.

Omg. I applied to the same major and the same school! Your daughter probably have amazing stats! Sounds like Cornell will most likely take her since she’s getting scholarships from other schools.
