Cornell Spring 2021 Transfer

Stats are similar to most. 3.6 GPA, 4.0 midterm, 33 ACT, but believe strong recommendations and extracurriculars were the key factors.

Accepted for ILR, 10am like everyone else.

Has anyone’s portal updated?

Did everyone’s checklist disappear the day before decisions come out?

Hi! I am applying for DSoc for next fall, I really am regretting not applying for the spring though. Do you think I could PM you to talk about your admissions process?

@treeslinger9

You’re honestly probably better off entering in the Fall anyway. My friend who’s son came in the Spring last year had a tough time adjusting because friend groups were already made, etc. This year with covid it’s an even more awkward time as things in dorms, etc are very restrictive. Socially for newbies it is really difficult right now.

I have a current student there who lives in a sorority and I thank god for that because she has her pod and it has been great. I also have a current hs senior who applied and I’m watching closely, because although they have done awesome as far as keeping their numbers down, they didn’t do a great job with freshmen/transfers from a social perspective and there were tons of things they could have done. If he gets in, I may have to try to convince him to defer a year. A school like Syracuse that also did great with Covid, was amazing during their orientation.

Good luck in your application. My daughter loves Cornell!

and around what time?

Does the rolling only give results on Tuesday or everyday in the week?

only tuesdays

Got it. Wish tomorrow good luck!

Hi guys, I have a question. I am currently a sophomore at my current college, as I said previously, I did not apply for the spring, but will in the fall. I wanted to ask if your major you got accepted to had requirements you had to take before transferring as a sophomore or junior, and if you actually completed those requirements or not. I am trying to junior transfer, but there is no way I will be able to complete all the requirements by the time my application is due. I am scared that means automatic rejection. Let me know what you guys think!

Has anybody in CAS’s checklist disappeared yet?

no, nothing yet.

according to last year’s thread, checklists may disappear between 3:00 and 3:30pm the day before your result is released. so, logically, that could happen later today for anyone hearing back tomorrow.

take it with a grain of salt though! it looked like anyone who had their checklist disappear definitely heard back but others whose checklists didn’t disappear still ended up getting their decision released. in other words, it’s not a hard and fast rule.

Financial aid status or the application status ?

Anyone for SHA have their checklist disappear

It was the application checklist that disappeared. My financial aid status still says initiated on the items listed on my to-do list. I think someone who got in last tuesday mentioned that their financial aid portal still says initiated as well.

I applied to SHA and my checklist disappeared today. Did your’s disappear as well?
