Current student of Cornell’22 here. I remember how helpful these CC forums were when I was applying to/trying to figure out stuff about Cornell. Here are some facts about me:
College: Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS)
Major: Information Science
Nationality: Canadian
Accepted: Regular Decision

I’m planning on applying ED to cornell this year. Do you think its possible to make up for a 3.6 unweighted GPA if you have spectacular test scores, ec’s, and leadership? What was your experience?
Hi! When I think of Cornell, I think of beautiful campus, interesting classes, and hardworking but fun and relaxed students. I think this is probably being way to unrealistic about Cornell, so what is your experience? Are the classes interesting, or is that counteracted by impossible courses graded on a bell curve? Does the campus truly get depressing in the winter, as compared to the summer when I visited? Most importantly, does it seem like people know what they are doing? With majors like Food Science, Industrial and Labor Relations, and Hotel Administration, is it any more confusing for students to figure out what they want to do? Especially after paying for that kind of education. Thanks!
Is the info sci program at CALS really popular? If so, is there the chance to get rejected from the info sci major even if you complete all prerequisite classes?
