Cornell Summer College 2006

I'm going. I'll be heading up from NJ. I'm taking the Freedom and Justice program.

smoore- i think it should be okay, as long as you dont miss any of your classes. You'll probably miss some kind of orientation or opening information stuff, but you could just ask your roommate if you missed anything important

Does anyone know how buying textbooks work? Can we buy them online ahead of time?

You can buy them ahead if you want. They suggest not, in case you end up changing class. I bought mine ahead of time. You can enter the ISBN number at either the Barnes and Noble or Borders website and buy it off there.

hey i'm taking the Veterinary Medicine program...anyone else taking this? it's always been by dream to become a veterinarian...AND to attend cornell's vet school...i guess i'll have ahead start by going this summer! i'm so excited about seeing the campus and meeting other people with the same interest as me...
btw, i'm from the DC area in virginia and i'll probably be flying up there
<3 jasmine

7 more days!

the "Cornell Store" on central campus sells them. i'm sure they'll give you guys maps once you get here :)

I'm enrolled in the three week Freedom and Justice: The Law in Theory and Practice program. Only one more day until it starts. I'm extremely nervous, not so much about the academic work, but the social aspect. I'm basically scared that no one will talk to me.

^That's unlikely, the program is very sociable, you're nearly forced to interact--but it's already started. I like the dorm area.

Yeah, now that I'm here, I'm really enjoying myself. I have a cool roomate, and Ithaca's a great town.

Lucian, please let me know how you enjoy your summer course, as that is the course that my high schooler would love to take. He will also have the option to take a summer course at our flagship state university (much closer and much cheaper), but we know that the Cornell course would be a great experience (both of his parents are Cornell alumni, after all!).

Hey I will be attending the VetMed program- Animal nutrition, except i didn't receive any notice of the course code (on the site it's animal husbandry) or materials required (textbook). anyone else in the same predicament or did i just lose a paper or something?

bump, anyone? :-/

hey is this for high schoolers or for college students

bump (10 char.)

also how do you get in/sign up for this if it is for highscoolers, i know its a lame question and probly pretty noobish but someone answer me

Anyone going back this year?

I wish, however, I have Health and Consumer's Education :(

for the people who went last year, did you like the program? what was the best part? what didn't you like?

I applied, but I got no aid. I got a job instead. I love it.

I really liked the program. The worst part was probably that it rained for almost the entire first week. Other than that it was great. My friends and I would go out and play frisbee twice a day. I went to the mall a few times. My professor was so nice. I ended up getting a connection as well.
