I'm going to apply to this program for the summer of 2010. Has anyone taken it before? I LOVE Cornell (it is my dream school) and I'm also extremely interested in business which is why I picked this program. However, I don't know anyone who has taken it so some feedback would be nice about difficulty of the program, selectivity of the program, and overall feelings about it.

I took the business world last summer - it was a great experience. Professor Taylor was awesome, but my TA was bad. In 3 weeks I learned alot about business, wrote 1 individual paper and 1 team paper, gave a group presentation, and took the final. It wasn’t too hard to get a good grade on the papers and presentation, but the final exam was a little hard. The final counts for half your overall grade, so make sure you study the textbook.
I made some great friends - I’m actually meeting 2 of them in the city later today.
And I got into Cornell early decision… I’m sure summer college helped me get in.
It’s not too hard to get into summer college - much less competitive than applying to be an undergrad - you should definitely do it.

What does the grade you get count for though? I want to do the program cuz 1)I’m interested in business 2)I love cornell and want to see what’s its like to spend a lot of time there so I didn’t really look into how my results would effect me (cuz I’m planning on trying hard anyway). Congratz on your acceptance! My stats aren’t as impressive as yours lol.

cornell has a special summer thing for accepted prefrosh that they will tell you about, its basically invite only, and it isnt that big of a deal. Acceptees dont do summer college though. Also, the program does not increase your chances, it is designed more as a way to market the college to prefrosh.

Thanks cookiemonster
Cornell and the other schools you apply to will look at your grade and probably count it in your gpa (it definitely will if u go to Cornell) it should help you though, almost definitely won’t hurt
there were a few incoming college freshmen but most were hs seniors
