good question, i’m wondering the same. I think we might ask this using the Chat With Us on the portal?
In past years transfers began to be notified on Tuesday April 21st or April 20th for 2021. Decisions will begin but likely not end until the end of May depending on the college, when you submitted your application, etc. I really want Cornell but I have other options, still it would be a miracle to get in.
You got any other offers?
So far I have gotten offers from UNC - Chapel Hill, University of Rochester, Boston University, and Wake Forest.
That’s not bad lol. I heard that Cornell’s Arts and Science is harder to transfer into (I am applying for Engineering, which is said to be harder). You are applying for Arts and Science correct?
No, I am applying to Human Ecology for Human Development
Damn they admit as much students as Arts and Science. This is wild lol
I’ve heard it is slightly less competitive for HumEc because less people apply so there are more spots than CAS or Engineering, and how competitive an applicant is VERY dependent on the courses they have taken and their grades, but I do not have any high hopes.
I see, but I don’t like any of the majors outside of Engineering or AS which kind of sucks for me. You definitely have a good shot since the college you apply for are less impacted
That’s nice of you to say but it is still really tough I assume, a lot of people get TO’s and this is a probably a large pool this year. If I get into one of my other top choices I would be fine, but this would be INCREDIBLE. I am manifesting good things for us both.
Have u heard back from BU already???
Yea, indirectly I was an admitted student last year and I heard from the college I applied to about transfer credit stuff so I assume that it is a yes.
But like not an official decision right?
No, not an official decision. Sorry for any confusion!
Hey! I just realized that the admitted number of transfer students dropped 180 in 2019. Do you guys happen to know the reason behind it? I hope it is because fewer people applied.
The fluctuation can be due to very random things. This year it seems like the new freshman class isn’t packed, so there are definitely space available for transfers (for example in 2020 Cycle Brown had a big spike in freshman taken and the transfers were screwed)
Does Cornell take CC transfers as much as 4 year institutions? Like NY CC with 4.0 gpa and 3 strong major related LORs and okayish ECs

Can somebody enlighten me please?
The people getting TO means they will attend another situation this year and if completed Cornell requirements, they’re guaranteed to be transfer Fall 2022 yeah?
For us, we’re applying this Fall. So we’re not competing with them yeah? I’m an international so it’s a bit confused for me.
You’re not competing w this year’s class. It’s offered to freshman as an alternative to being waitlisted or rejected for enrollment Fall 21. They can attend any other school they choose then apply for transfer for Fall 22.
But you are competing with those that received this TO last year for Fall 21.
