Hi guys!
I recently got accepted into Cornell Universities’s College of Human Ecology, and my major would be Global and Public Health. I also got into Bryn Mawr in PA where I would major in sociology and minor in health sciences in the bi-co . Im currently planning on a pre med track, so Im looking into the strength for the pre-med advising, research and other oportunities available, LOR- connections with professors, ability to maintain good GPA, and overall community at each of the schools.
Cornell: I have been told that the connections and prestige will be able to help me gain many opportunities but expensive at around 50k per year. Developed and sucessful pre-med advising, big research institute, remote rural place however, also more competitive. Worried if I can even acess these resources with the competition. Maybe can have a better chance at the more prestigious higher ranked med schools. If pre-med doesnt work out, I have other great options.
Bryn Mawr: Smaller, around 30k per year. Like the size, and option to be able to make closer relationships with the professors, Philly is 20 min away and part of the tri-co so I can take classes in other colleges. Less opportunities for research but I heard advising can help you. Lesser known but still is a good college. The Bryn Mawr traditions sounds fun but not the average college experience. Historically all womens and less diversity.
