Cornell vs. Berkeley

Hi everyone, I'm having great trouble deciding between Cornell and Berkeley.

I want to compare these two universitys' Mathematics and Economics UNDERGRAD programs. I also would like to know the pros and cons of attending ea of the university.

Also, I want to know are there more summer internship oppurtunities at So. Cal if I attend Berkeley or Cornell? And which school has a higher employment rate after graduation?

thank you!

Are location and financial aid factors? Both are excellent schools and Cornell is sort of like the Berkeley of the Ivies. Visit both and go with your gut feeling. You can’t go wrong with either one in terms of employment opportunities and prestige.

I prefer to work in So. Cal after college (my family lives here), but I would also like to have a unique college experience.

Are the education quality the same for these two institutes? I feel that Cornell may have an edge on that since it’s a private university.

i say stick with berk.

Compelling evidence you offer.

I think that you will find that Cornell’s presence in SoCal is quite strong. It’s not quite USC, or as strong as it is in the Bay area, but there’s a definite presence.

You’ll have a unique college experience at both Berkeley and Cornell. The difference will be that there will be more resources/opportunities available to students at Cornell on account of it being smaller and less budget sensitive.

If money isn’t an issue, go to Cornell.

Cornell is known throughout the world (so is Berkeley, but Cornell more so).

Heck no. Berkeley is much more well known internationally, considering it is one of the 3 most prominent research powerhouses in the world.

But I would personally never go to Berkeley. The budget cuts make it sound very… unappealing.

cornell also has budget cuts. though i dont think neither place would have cut too much from these programs.

if u wanna work in-state it would make sense (if money isnt an issue) to go to school there since you wont have to go outta your way for interviews and internships…
