cant find any pictures of the corner dorms… help? also are the desks and dressers bolted down? thanks!
Which corner double is it (a.k.a., what is your room #)? I lived in one of the corner doubles last year and can try to explain the set up to you, but I need to know what room # (the tower and floor part doesn’t matter, just the number. For instance, 1110 B says B tower, 11th floor, room 10).
0815 C @sms122397 . thanks!
Congratulations! You won one of the best warren rooms around! (lol)
But seriously though, your room is actually bigger than the standard double. Your floormates will be jealous.
And very curious. Get ready for people popping in to gawk.
I lived in the same type of room (number 10 instead of 15 though). I thought it was great.
1.) Nothing is lofted; everything is on the ground.
2.) You get the standard bed, desk/chair, dresser, and a closet. Yes, they are bolted, except for the bed and chair.
3.)The two desks are back to back in the middle of the room, which kind of separates you and your roomates space.
4.)A bed is placed against each wall, there is probably about 4 ft. between your bed and the desk (maybe only 3)
There is a bit of shelving behind the beds for storage, which most rooms don’t have. There is more for the bed that is further from the door. The bed closest to the door will have more window access, I believe.
5.)Both closets are on one wall next to each other, it is the wall on the same side of the door. The dressers are right next to the closet.
6.) There is a light positioned on the wall with the bed, it is probably about 3-4 ft. up the wall if your bed is on risers, which kind of ruins any big poster plans for that wall.
7.) There is probably 4-5 ft. between the edge of the desks and the closet wall, which makes the room seem nice and open.
Here is a link to general floor plans for warren, so you can try to picture the walls:
http://www.bu.edu/housing/files/2015/04/Warren-Towers-Typical-Floor-Plan-A1.jpg
The two white lines sticking out of one wall show the closets, one in the top right corner (with the blue box), the other right next to it.
I know it is probably not that easy to picture, but I hope this helped a little! If you want to ask me to clarify anything a little, I’ll do me best!
P.S.- You are only two floors above me next year haha
@sms122397 I can’t thank you enough for this information! I had no idea my room was a corner until recently. Obviously I am very happy about it. I will be sure to stop by to thank you in person I guess haha. Any other questions about the room I will be sure to ask!
Also, corner rooms tend to have a better view because they are not facing another tower (unlike my scenic view of Tower C from my room).
I’m thinking if the desks are in the middle of the room there won’t be a cork board on the wall? Or that little built on hutch? I can’t find pics anywhere…
Theres a cork board you can share on one wall, and there is a little cork board attached to the desks, which create a little wall between the desks. There is also a little shelf with the corkboard that just kind of sits on top. Hard to explain, but you DO get a corkboard and little shelf on each desk. @wickedsavvy
Is there a way that you know of to post a video on this website? Because I do have a video of my room last year, but I dont know if I can post it anywhere…
So it sounds like it is almost like a built on little hutch attached to desk, so that when you are sitting at your desk you are staring at your cork board and not your roommate who is working right in front of you? Not sure how to post video. I could email you my email address?
@wickedsavvy The way you described it is exactly how it is
perfect! so I will just get my dry erase board haha
