send everyone back home and move to online courses for the remainder of the semester. For me, this is a bit extreme and I really hope this does not get implemented. Yes, I understand health concerns and especially for prof’s and others at risk, but lets hold that policy decision back until there is concrete evidence of risk to the campus. As of now, there are no reported cases and everyone is exercising extreme care with respect to limiting their personal habits to exposing themselves to the virus. However, there is one official diagnosed case in nearby Newton- so this is a fluid situation.
It would really suck if they sent everyone home. How do you do a chem or bio lab on-line? What’s it going to cost the international students to fly home last minute? What if their home country is China or Italy. Would be a royal mess. Will they refund dorm and meal plans? How about giving us U of Phoenix level tuition costs if we go on-line?
Not to mention BC is hosting the ACC Hockey Tournament- We are ranked 4th in the Nation. (Thank god for hockey)
Yes- it would suck!
Closing it is the smart move. We are only 10-14 days behind Italy so this gives them time to get home or make alternative arrangements.
small nit: ACC does not do hockey. BC plays in HockeyEast.
