Correlation between Dr. Chung's SAT II Math 2 and Actual Test

Does anyone have any idea how to correlate a score in Dr. Chung's SAT Math 2 book to a score on the actual test? My highest score from his book was a 690. I know I have work to do between now and the test on June 1, but I was just wondering where I'm at (if that is realistic, too low, or too high).

Thank you.

I want to know too. Bump

In my DD’s experience, the Chung book is significantly more difficult than the actually sat math II. She regularly scored mid 700s with the Chung book, but aced the real test easily.

I’m also using Dr. Chung’s book. I’m barely scraping 700 on most of the tests I’m doing (I’ve done 6) but I’ve heard that hitting 700 will get a mid- to high-700 on the actual, if not an 800. I think it’s good that it’s harder on the actual test (although I tend to spend a lot more time on Dr. Chung’s than the 1 hour that’s allotted), but I find the tips slightly annoying, since they’re written in such didactic and non-student-friendly form.

I took like 2-3 of Dr. Chung’s and the best I got using 60 minutes was a 720. I took the May test and I think I got an 800, if not then high 700’s (scores come out tomorrow.) Some questions on the Dr. Chung’s tests are really helpful, but its pretty hard to predict a real score from a Dr. Chung’s score, so don’t stress out about it. Just keep taking his tests (and a more realistic book too) and you’ll do fine.

Thanks everyone.

I’m pushing to get mid-700’s in Dr. Chung’s… though today I just got a 600 on Test 7. Ouch. At least everyone agrees the real thing isn’t as hard…

I wish everyone the best who’s taking it on June 1!

Ayy supersoaker101, would you mind posting your score so I get a rough idea of Chung’a book and the actual test correlation? Totes ok if you’re not comfortable with that though. Thanks~

I took a lot of practice tests in various other books besides Dr. Chung’s though (PR, Kaplan, Barron’s) and I read Mcgraw-hill cover-to-cover to make sure i knew all the topics. So idk how much of my score is based off of studying Dr. Chung’s, but I definitely think it helped.

Congrats supersoaker101!

OK, I’ll probably try getting some of the other books through the library…

Awesome, thanks, supersoaker101! That makes me feel a teeny bit better

no problem! Just remember that a range of books is always better, as no book is completely covers what’s gonna be on it.

Just wanted to update this thread for anyone who might come along: I got the results back about a week ago and got an 800! So Dr. Chung’s book is definitely harder than the real thing.

Same here, I used Chung’s book, made low 700s, then took the real thing and made an 800. I only started using this book about a week before the test, so it’s not like you have to use this book for a long time to reap the benefits.
