WAIT so is the transcript official if you just get a school official sign it and then send it in with the conformation page? or does it have to be sent to COSMOS by our schools???
@katied123 I think its okay as long the registrar signs it and puts a seal on it. You can mail it with your confirmation page.
@katied123 according to Wikipedia, “an official transcript is prepared and sent by the issuing school usually by the Student Registrary with an original signature of a school official.” I think it depends on what your school calls an official transcript–at my school, it’s mailed and sent by the transcript office, and students aren’t allowed to touch it.
oh dear i procrastinated on this app like crazy and now the deadline is slapping me in the face and i still have to decide on my cluster woohoo!!!
where is the conformation page where we need to sign stuff?
I believe the confirmation page will appear once you’ve submitted the application???
DONE WITH MY STATEMENT OF INTEREST AND CLUSTER INTEREST QUESTIONS!!!
screw the 50 word optional essay
@carisatinie oh ty! I am so behind shoot
I’m sure this has been discussed in the previous pages, but what schools/clusters are considered especially “competitive”?
And also, just to clarify, everything just needs to be postmarked by the 20th, right? It doesn’t have to be sitting in the admissions office by then?
Is it fine if I send my official transcript tomorrow, but I don’t send my actual application until Wednesday night?
And how do I send my SAT Subject test scores with them?
@matchachacha I think so. The website says, “Application materials must be postmarked by Friday, February 20, 2015 and mailed to” (at least for UCSD).
@Cornbread1999 got it, thanks
I’m trying to decide between these clusters, does anyone have any advice/information on them?
UCI (Genes/Genomes, Biomedical Sciences)
UCSD (Tissue engineering, bioengineering red blood cell)
UCD (Biomedical sciences, biotech)
@matchachacha I’m applying to the bioengineering red blood cell one. It sounds interesting, but you can’t have it with Tissue engineering. Those are first choice only.
Do the one that appeals most to you, and will give you the best experience.
No one applying for UCSD computers in everyday life and earthquake engineering)
@Cornbread1999 thanks for the first choice only reminder-- I’d completely forgotten for that.
One final question-- do all the materials (teacher recs, etc) have to be mailed in one package, or can they be sent separately?
@cincandyful I’m applying to Computers in Everyday Life as my second choice, if that counts!
is anyone lagging?
@Kelvin82 yeah, it keeps on going back to the “Error” page… I’ve resorted to refreshing the page repeatedly until it takes me to the actual page
@Kelvin82 Yes, it’s still lagging… I want to finish my application now!
@Cornbread1999 You can submit your application online by Wed night, and then mail the transcripts and confirmation page the next day. They just need to be postmarked by 20th.
