@Kelvin82 Thanks for asking! I requested one during lunch today and my counselor told me she would mail it today! Yay! I’ll check tomorrow to see if she actually did it 
One weird thing was that while I was filling out a request for a transcript, she asked me, “Is it for COSMOS?” And I was like, “Yeah, how’d you know?” And she didn’t say anything…

According to our transcript office person, she gets around 200 requests for COSMOS transcripts a year.

My chem teacher sort of humiliated me in class today. So our class was doing a review of balancing equations and he shouts, “I’m going to put Miss (my name) on the spot because she’s going to COSMOS!” And then he asked me a question about trees, which I didn’t answer because he kept talking and got off-topic. :stuckouttonguewinkingeye:
It was really embarrassing. I kept whispering to him, “Don’t say that! I don’t know if I’ll be accepted or not!” But he just kept talking. Funny thing is, he knows what I’m capable of and yet he seldom says my name. That was, like, the second time he said my name in front of the class.
It’s 1:03 a.m. here, but I can’t sleep because the COSMOS apps are due today! I submitted it a while ago, but I’m just super excited for some reason.
I don’t think my school even get anyone applying since when I request for an official transcript last yr as a freshmen, the registar was like what do u need an official transcript for?
Btw, I mailed my stuff on Wednesday and they still haven’t recieve it yet…kinda worried about my stuff.
I emailed the COSMOS UCSC person due to a discrepancy on my Application Status, and she said they were looking at transcripts from the 16th, 17th, and 18th at the moment. I sent mine last Tuesday, so hopefully they’ll get it soon. They got my confirmation page, which was mailed the same day (but not by my school).
@The5458Captain everybody expects me to get in, which is even worse. One of the teachers whose recommendations I got said, “You’ll get in for sure.” My other teacher told another student (who is the only person in our grade in Calculus; he was looking at a number theory problem with my teacher) that I was “great at number theory” and I was mortified.
@topaz1116 My chemistry teacher’s the same way. He’s always like, “You’ll get in, don’t worry about it”, but I do worry because there’s so much competition.
I sent my transcripts on the 18th and my confirmation letter and application fee on the 19th, and it only showed up as received today.
but thank god nothing went wrong
now, it’s time to worry about getting in or not.
btw, am I the only guy around here?
I’m applying to another program that prefers a rec from a science teacher, but the rec is online and my chemistry teacher doesn’t do online recs… (I didn’t ask him for a rec for COSMOS.) I could ask my engineering teacher, but… Eh… I’ll see. I have until Friday to figure out who I’m going to ask for a rec. I doubt my science teacher from last year remembers me, so I can’t ask her.
Actually, I have until next Friday to figure out who’s going to do my letter of rec–the deadline for those is later.
