cost after 4 years?

from what I can gather on their website, the cost of attending UT is around 30k total for instate for 4 years. I am baffled because this is pretty cheap for a university...does this include tuition, housing, food, and books?

the link: Tuition and Costs | Why UT? | Be a Longhorn

If you read that first line, it says 2009-2010. 22,000-27,000 for one year.

oh you’ll be well under debt dont be so baffled yet

definitely not…especially if you live on campus

lol its about 80-90k for 4 years in-state buddy, don’t get too excited

I was sure I read it wrong and it seems I did, thats why I came on here to confirm, I wasn’t getting too excited. the wording just confused me when they said “Estimated Total Cost of Undergraduate Education (Fall 2009–Spring 2010)” being 27k.

thanks.

27k? great… looks like it’ll be about 110k for 4 years now

Add $22k per year for OOS!

Oh, that number has gotta be in-state tuition only and is at the past year rate. Tuition has been increasing much faster than general inflation. I’d expect the next 4 instate years of tuition and req’d fees to exceed 40,000. Certainly their figure does not cover living expenses and books. Just my 2 cents.

I recently earned both a BA (Plan II) and BSChE. I paid in-state tuition. The total cost - tuition, fees, books, rent, utilities, food, gasoline, car insurance, renters insurance, etc. - of my five years at UT: ~$120K. The Army College Fund/MGIB and merit scholarships covered all but $5K of that. Apply for scholarships!

@Stan: Way to plan, Stan!! Awesome for you. Congrats!
