I'm applying several schools where the price tag is 40k-50k.

It is a constant battle to others freaking out on me why I would pay that much to go to college (I can afford it, not rich, special circumstance).

Many people insist on going to a State U, because you will get the same education there. I beg to differ, but no way to prove it, or even know if I'm right.

Is it economically viable to actually go to a Top 10 or even a high level Liberal Art College?

My dad & aunt both went to Furman, which is a liberal arts private school that costs around 40k a year and they told me that the education isn’t worth the price.

That’s all the information I have for you haha

Oh - and it also depends on your personality type. If you can afford a private liberal arts school & you aren’t into the whole 30k population deal with a state U, then the private liberal arts school is the way to go imo

For most people the sticker price and the street price of a LAC are two different things. The street price at many LAC’s is closer to $18k even when the price tag says $35-45k.

Anyone who insists you’ll get the same education at a state university and a LAC doesn’t know what they’re talking about. For some people a state university is everything they’re looking for in a college experience, but others learn better in a small community where the football coach is paid less than the college president does.
