I’m applying to the school of engineering. I have a 3.9 weighted gpa on a 4.0 scale. My sat is kinda low with a 1950 (690math 650cr and 610writing). I participate in 2 in school sports and 1 out of school, I got an honorable mention at states for national history day and I am a math tutor at my school. What are the chances I could get into Lehigh?
Hey there, I disagree your SAT score is low. A 690 in math is in the 91st percentile which is excellent. 650 in critical reading is in the 90th percentile. Okay, your writing is a little lower - but writing is not the most important skill for an engineer. Besides, Lehigh has a great required English class for all freshman that really emphasizes writing AND they have a great writing lab that will give you plenty of help. Looks to me like Lehigh would love to have you. Of course, with a small school nothing is ever a guarantee. Have you been to visit? Make sure you sign in with the admissions office!!! Demonstrated interested is a deal breaker, I think. The only other factor I could see would be if you needed a lot of financial aid. I think you are an excellent fit for Lehigh. But no one can really know what your chances are when only a thousand students are admitted each year. Best of Luck!!!

I’d always say there’s a chance in regards to getting into Lehigh. I got in with a 3.4 GPA in high school and similar test scores as you.

Lehigh does not consider the writing SAT section. 750 Math is their 75th percentile…which you will want to be near, especially if you are male.

I had a 600 CR and a 660 Math and I got in as an asian male. Just have a good interview.
Lehigh is a school that looks beyond your test scores and your GPA. The admissions office takes the time to get to know the applicants. You didn’t get in just because you gave a good interview. Don’t sell yourself so short. I bet you are an amazing student and will be a real asset to the Lehigh community. Congratulations and welcome!!!
