<p>Personal:
Male, white, middle class, no legacies, private Catholic school in Southern NJ.</p>

<p>Intentions:
Business degree</p>

<p>Academics:
Unweighted GPA: 3.7 (4.0 scale)
Weighted GPA: 4.9 (overall/cumulative)
SATs: 720 CR - 700 Math - 720 Writing (not considered here)
SAT Subject Tests: 690 Lit - 640 US History - 670 Math II
AP Test: US History (5)
Rank: Specific number unknown; definitely top 10% out of about 191 kids, possibly top 5%.
School: Private Catholic (Co-ed)
Courses: 4 years of all the major subjects (including Lab sciences) at Honors and AP levels, as offered. All A's and B's for the past three years. I've taken four AP courses, which is pretty standard for my school (most AP's there are only offered to upperclassmen, and many are elective-styles, like AP Psych). Very rigorous courseload.</p>

Let's just say that I have plenty of it! Everything from Scouting to school-related (soup kitchens, elderly care, etc).</p>

<p>Job experience:
I never had time to pursue a legitimate job, so I play the piano at a country club's restaurant on the side. I also do freelance stuff, like parties.</p>

<p>Other:
AED, CPR, First Aid certified
I am participating in my school's Cum Laude Program, where the top students are invited to execute a massive creative project of their choice. In short, I've spent the past year writing an orchestral score to be played by our Concert Band in May. </p>

<p>Your SATI and II scores and GPA are on the low end of acceptance. Your EC's don't really stand out, except for the crew, but that will really only help if you're recruited. I'd say that you have a decent shot, but it'll be tough.</p>

<p>Yeah, you have a good shot. There are much better applicants out there but you are in the running.</p>

<p>Have you contacted the crew coach? Would you be qualified for Heavyweight crew, and have competitive times? If so, your application would have a great "tip".</p>

<p>Well thanks for the opinions; it's all basically what I've already thought. It's a big reach, but you never know. Unfortunately, I'm not being recruited for crew, although I have kept in constant contact with the coaches. They say I'm a "strong candidate" and that I'm "well in the mix with anyone else," for whatever that's worth.</p>

<p>A wise admissions officer from Georgetown once told me, "About 85% of the people who apply to these selective schools would be great fits. Unfortunately we can't take all of them."</p>
