could this help me?

lets say I happen to be really awesome friends with this one teacher of mine that I will be having write a recommendation letter for me. and lets say that she happens to be engaged to yale's favorite alumni ever. and lets say they are friends with a lot of people at admissions and talk to them on a regular basis. does this help my chances?

It possibly could, though it wouldn’t make up for other missing components in your application.

It might even hurt your chances - considering i doubt the relationship you have with your teacher is in any position considerably not like that like he or she has with his to be wife/husband.

More importantly, I don’t think Universities like being told by alumni on who to accept, deny etc. As their application system does this. If you want to leave an impression I suggest you contact a member of Yale’s board or something like that.

How should i know though - im not a Yale grad nor do I know how they run their school, I just know people can get ****y very quickly when outside influences come into play - not necessarily positive, or negative
