I was wondering...could we retake the SAT in January for RD?

You have to send a score from before to serve as a “placeholder”. Then you take the January SATs and use rush-shipping.

Yes, I have a score from before.

But are you sure about the rush part? Some schools are strictly against rushed scores.

That thread is skeptical of the whole being against rush shipping part, and so am I. But if it’s true, then just rush it to the colleges that accept it, and ship it regularly to those that don’t. If I were you, I’d just rush it to all of them though.

Well, I know for a fact that Columbia does not accept rushed scores, for example.

I couldn’t find anything about Rushed Scores on UPenn’s website, and so I sent them an e-mail, asking them.

You can retake the SATs in January so long as the scores are rushed. You should set up the rush sending before the scores are released. Penn will get the scores a bit before they are released to the test takers

^ That may be risky though. You might not want to send the scores if they’re terrible.

^ Doesn’t Penn require all SAT scores be sent anyway?

^ Oh yeah, you’re right. It depends on how honorable you are whether you want to follow it, though.

I always thought that the collegeboard report mentioned whether or not you used score choice

For most website I’ve read, they simply said that Jan was the last testing date…didn’t see anything about rushing scores…?

True. On their site I just read that they accept January SATs, as long as it’s not your first time taking the SAT. they didn’t say to rush it though. So where are you guys getting this piece of info.?

Btw, collegeboard does not say if you used score report. I personally won’t use it since Penn needs all and it shows that I’m improving. Just saying.
