Countdown and Results Thread for the December SATs.

Wow VR, that's pretty impressive! Congratulations

Hey chronicfuture I am joining the club haha.

First time taking it:

Writing - 800 (10 essay, 80 MC)
Math - 770
Critical Reading - 730

Total: 2300.

Not wanting to take it again. Is this good enough for Columbia, NYU, Cornell?

^ a 2300 is good enough for ANYWHERE.

It's actually more than just 'good enough.'

A 2300 is top 0.35% of the country. If it's not good enough, then that school should go to hell.

Yay! Good to know, thanks lolcats4 and Arachnotron!

Now to keep my GPA up... :)

hey everyone, (need ur help) plzz

I am an internatinal student.actually, really really international =)

I ve been here for only two months and my english is poor =)

I made my first shot and I got

MATH : 750 NATIONAL PERCENTILE : %97

Ididnt say my other scores because u can imagine how poor they are (around 300)

whatever, people told me that sat is for natives and toefl will be enough for me.

I really want to get into colleges like ucla,boston...

Also I know that I need to take subject tests and I believe I can score on MATH2C around 750+ . If I have time to study, I can get another test like German or Physics.

What do you think?Is my math score enough for getting into top colleges?maybe ucla...

Agh! I failed! Scored lower than 1st testing! lol

@FURKANK - First of all congratulations on your impressive math score.

My dad was in a similar situation when he came over from Malaysia to go to college - I think he was high 700s in math but mid 400s verbal.

I am sure that your math score will look very good but they won't be very impressed with a 1400/2400 composite. They will look at your international background but I think you will still want a higher score than that. So I would definitely look to improve your critical reading and writing scores.

1880 10char

@ajwchin

thank you so much =)

i wish i had time to make my scores better =( application deadlines have almost passed for top colleges =( i searched for colleges which have likely accept me like drexel university , virginia tech and i think i will apply for being in secure... thanks again, I will keep your advices in my mind and try to do so =) but here is another question ;

Is there any chance to make an application after deadlines? Because If it is possible, that means, I will have enough time to develop my scores=)Maybe they can do me a favor because of being international ?

FURKANK, i am an international student also :) i don't think we can make the application once the deadlines are passed. But i will advice you to apply first as there is still january where you can retake the SAT. Some universities let ACT to "substitute" both SAT l and sAT ll, so you can consider taking it too. All the best!!

@cherry0809

thank you =) I will think about it. =)

2200!!!
so excited!

CR 760
M 790
W 800

Total - 2350

Retaking in January for CR.

^ Well done srrinath, that's a great score.

How did you get a 790 on Math? 0.0 I thought -1 = 770?

eckkk;
2120

well below my expectation
reading 640
writing 730 (essay 10)
math 750

i didnt expect much for reading at the first place
but so disapointed that i didnt get 800 for math;

at least it's my first time
so hopefully i can do better next time

should we ever consider retaking if we scored above 2100?? mine was 2120, i am an international student, it was my second retake -cr 690, math 710 , writing 720, i improved on every section by 40, 40 and 50 marks respectively. should i retake? i am aiming for ivy league.

If you're looking to an Ivy League school I suggest retaking it. While it's definitely possible to get in with a 2120 I think your chances will go up drastically if you can push the score up one or two hundred points. :)
