The very fact that folks like christiansoldier exist makes my soul wither in despair. When I get rejected this Thursday, at least it won’t be too hard to accept, especially since my stats don’t even begin to approach that level of awesomeness. :)

Best of luck, everyone! (blast salsa music or whatever kind you like and dance when no one’s looking to relieve the stress–that’s what I’m doing right now :D)

Regarding qualifications, there are obviously many very qualified individuals on this website (including those beyond academic merit and those who have overcome severe obstacles due to social and economic adversity), but the one individual that has impressed me the most has been a member by the name of “Nocturne.” He attended a very low-performing high school yet he still achieved a perfect SAT (as in not missing a single question and receiving a perfect 12 on the essay), a perfect ACT (as in a perfect 36 on each section), four perfect Subject Tests (three at the time of submission), and self-studied several difficult AP courses due to the lack of academic opportunities. Of course, the statistics on CC are self-reported, so we all must take what we observe with a grain of salt, but considering his context, I was very astounded. He was also extremely talented extracurricularly. He doesn’t post here anymore, but he is at MIT now.

Despite my espousal of a singular case (in #335), I must admit that I do greatly respect and fully admire the grand efforts and achievements of all those who are fulfilling their utmost potential.

On the topic, I must say that I have significant and deep respect for mifune. Despite being from a low-income family and having moved around frequently, he managed to succeed in ways that can only reflect a special combination of raw ability and humble dedication.

I think one of the most amazing people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing on this board would have to be the one guy who was just amazing in every way, shape, and form.
He really emanated talentedness and intelligence. He was extremely humble and yet confident. He was wittier than Christiansoldier; he was more eloquent and bombastic than mifune (and poorer too); and he was shinier than silverturtle. His name was mathsciencedude, and I think he deserves an I-love-mathsciencedude thread more than anyone else on this thread. Anyone want to start one?

P.S. By the way, I’m not narcissistic; I just love myself.
P.P.S. And to Northstarmom-yeah, I do like my image in the mirror
P.P.P.S. And he stayed up all hours of the night so that he could post on CC because that’s how cool he is.
P.P.P.P.S He was also quite the editor of writing, which is why his posts have so many edits.

If every countdown thread could be like this, I’d be revisiting it religiously every day. Hahaha
And ksarmand, I think mifune is indeed applying Early Admission. Or whatever you call it when juniors graduate early and apply to colleges.

I think it’s pretty cool how we recognize people on CC now as opposed to just posters. Before the admission season, I never remembered anyone’s stats. Now I could probably name those of half the people in the last 2-3 pages.

@motion12345 - You don’t suck! You can’t possibly suck. You’re applying to Harvard. Plus, you can say that you “know” me. Just kidding.

I agree with mifune though, Nocturne was truly remarkable. But I worship christiansoldier (who did get into Stanford, but not MIT???).

Oh, I didn’t get 6 800s on my subject tests. I got 5 800s and a 790. Not that there’s a huge difference, but I didn’t want people thinking that I’m a freak like christiansoldier. And I say that out of adoration.

Thank you for your positive regards, silverturtle. You have already accumulated an incredibly impressive profile and it is quite apparent that you will embody a very high degree of excellence once the Class of 2015 decision threads arrive.
