Countdown to Decision Day... 3, 2, 1...

Haha we all need a laugh right now. I think I’m just gonna make myself obsessed with Pokemon again and just catch 'em all in the new game that’s coming out in a couple weeks. Or get another girlfriend. Haha. One of the two.

My “safeties” are Cambridge, UChicago, MIT, and Georgetown. I was accepted to a couple other schools in England, but I applied to them randomly and since then my parents have basically said that the only UK college I’m allowed to go to is Cambridge.

I think I’m in serious danger of rescindment though. Oh Physics C. How you fall unshaken when you mellow be.

Countdowns are always depressing. I’ve just given up counting down. I seriously can’t believe results are coming out in just a couple of weeks. Countdowns just make people even more nervous and anxious. I don’t want to be pessimistic, but dream for the best and think of the worst, it’ll help when the rejections come

My safeties are all Indian colleges. IIT and IISER(like an EA for me there)

hahaha, Millan, I wish I had your safeties to fall back on!
That is amazing!

What course have you applied to at Cambridge?

my safety is university of guatemala school of basketweaving.

Millanclad, what is a potential linguistics student doing taking Physics C?

Lol anyway I guess technically my safety school is Cambridge as well although to be honest it was probably harder to get into than anywhere stateside…

Georgetown and UChicago are my safeties :)

has anyone planned on summer jobs or summer travel or summer admissions to university or summer research or summer internships or summer fun?

me: summer = nothing to do = basketball

28 days 4 hours 7 minutes left

Lol all 5 months of my post-exam vacs are PACKED.
@romanticism- U Chic, a SAFETY? :O

haha I’m guessing that Romanticism got into Georgetown & UChicago EA & thus doesn’t really have safeties! Right now, Yale is my “safety” in a sense: since I got in SCEA, I didn’t have to apply to any of my real safeties!!

My safety is University of Vermont… needless to say I’m more than hoping that I’m going to get lucky in a few weeks.

@gary7, answer313 is correct. I was accepted EA at both so they are acting as my safeties (I certainly do not consider them “safety schools” though).

Where else is everyone applying? Any other top schools?

Accepted UWashington Honors.
I’m hoping for Brown though, honestly, even over Harvard. Also waiting to hear from UVa and Yale.
Congrats everyone who’s heard back EA already. Just curious (not that I don’t understand)… is Harvard everyone’s top choice here?

My ‘safety’ is Pitt Honors, even though I’m pretty sure I’m going there (yay for full tuition). I already got into Michigan Honors and Penn State (lol).

In addition to Harvard, I applied to Wash U, UChicago (deferred EA :(), Duke, Yale, and Boston U, but, yea I guess Harvard is somewhat of my top choice (though I doubt I’ll get in since I got deferred by UChicago).

I should have applied to Brown and MIT,but it would have been too much work. I probably would have looked like a prestige whore with HYPSC and Penn which I applied to. What really sucks is that if I don’t get into those schools, ( already rejected from Yale) I’ll be going to Cal which no one on CC seems to like. I really couldn’t find matches and safeties that I would like to attend.

Harvard was my safety, :p

@ Guiltybystander: haha, thanks. I applied for linguistics at Cambridge. I applied to Christ’s, where Darwin, among others, went, but they pooled me to an all girls college. It’s really pretty and very much still Cambridge, and the chef’s last name is Proudfoot (Like the Hobbit family!) but it’s not Christ’s.

@TYiL: I have no idea! It was a bad, bad decision. I saw the teacher when I was in 7th grade and decided I wanted to be in his class. Stupidly. Actually, I originally signed up for Physics B, but then I got there, and none of my friends/people with whom I usually have class were i it. Then when I got to English, they all made fun of me and called me a slacker. Even though it’s been the most awful experience, academically, I love everyone in there. When we’re not learning anything, or taking a test, it’s the best class.

Proudfeet!

Ah! Thanks answer.
And harvard, is NOT my top choice.
