countdown until we recieve nov. SAT scores

eastern time

I also know a guy who was about 30th percentile on the PSAT -- I dont know what his score was. Is that as good as a 930 on the SAT? lol

caesar_rexus, I got an 11 on the last essay. my one calling paris hilton, kim jong ill, and bush beautiful idiots... I'll tell you in 7 hours or so

red sox what time will it be up in pacific time?

for those of you who are bored, there was a great thread about a really really young guy who was skipping HS and going straight to college in the chances forum...great reading material; interesting how it survived for over a year

Based on previous SAT percentiles from 2001, 30th percentile should correspond to about a 1370. In fact, on the old SAT a 910 is about 30th percentile, so try again. It's funny how being on CC makes one gasp at sub-par scores. "OMG someone has BELOW AVERAGE SAT scores!" I know how it goes valikor.

I find it hard to believe that half the people who take the damn test get 1500something and below.

"red sox what time will it be up in pacific time?"

10pm tommorrow night

off-topic question.

I got a 3.75/4 gpa. But without my first 6 semesters of latin it would be in the low 3.9's. how do you think colleges look at that. By the way, for the quarter I got an A in latin, the first time that has ever happened.

I'm pretty sure colleges will recalculate your GPA as they see fit. It won't look pretty, but I bet low grades only in latin are better than sporadic low grades throughout.

there is a kid in my school who has a 100% chance of getting into harvard

where are the scores usually displayed once you log in to your account? and when is the web traffic at its worst?

"but I bet low grades only in latin are better than sporadic low grades throughout."

this is what I am hoping too. latin has accounted for more than half of more total B's.

I know I shouldn't ask...no good can come out of my asking...but how does one have 100% chance of acceptance into harvard?

I am not going to pretend that I don't know, heres an example - Time Man of the Year.

Yeah. I don't think anyone has a 100% chance anywhere really when you think about it. What if the admissions officer has a vendetta against a specific type of person? What if you forget something on the app? Certainly no one has a 100% chance at Harvard.

2,400......million dollars

I thought you would never ask!!!

He has a 2400 SAT
a weighted GPA of 4.32/4.33 (he has only gotten 1 A throughout all of High school, the rest have been A+'s)
he takes the toughest courses available.
He has spectacular EC's and is currently completing his first novel which will be published.
He won a national Comp. prog. competition.
All world in math and everything else.

AND THE HOOK........

His dad went to Harvard and is currently retired. He job prior to being retired???????

He was like the head of Northeast admissions for Harvard!!!

and no, I am not making this up.

i went to a pretty urban school, and saw kids in the 1-9th percentile on their psats.... it was sophomore year, but still... pretty low

I still wouldn't say he has a 100% chance.
