course redundancy?

i plan to take ap physics b and ap physics c simultaneously next year; however, from what i've heard, physics c is just physics b plus calculus. thus, would taking both courses be redundant? should i drop physics b?

thanks for any responses!

If both courses are offered at your school, why don’t you ask the teachers about this? They would be the best ones to advise you on your choice of classes.

The thing is…physics b is online, so none of my teachers know anything about it…

I don’t see the point in taking Physics B as well.

AP Physics B is of low value when it comes to subject credit at a university. If you are taking AP Physics C, there is no point in taking AP Physics B simultaneously.

so it is true that physics c is the same thing as physics b, just with calculus added?

Bump bump bump

If you know calculus, take physics with calculus since you will understand the concepts better and you will be more likely to get useful subject credit for it.

If you successfully do AP Physics C, you generally won’t get any more credit for AP Physics B in addition.

I don’t see the point of taking both. Just take AP Physics C. You still may be able to take both AP exams.
