<p>Like I said I got into several top 15 schools with stuff like: intro to poli sci, us history 1, us history 2, intro to soci…just make sure you have a full course load and no completely obvious throw away classes</p>
<p>I think yolocholo is more or less correct. Schools use very different numbering systems and have titles that reflect nothing whatsoever about the difficulty of the courses. Moreover, you’re not reasonably expected to be taking graduate or upper level courses as a freshman or sophomore. If you’re a science major, the adcoms will have a good sense of the rigor of your courses, and you’re not going to have a whole lot to prove. </p>
<p>I’m no admissions officer, but my sense is that the rigor question is a murky one that is highly case-specific and one for which there is no definitive answer.</p>
