Covid Tests Available Again [for delivery by the US Postal Service]

Still haven’t gotten mine :(. Ordered them the first day.

Did you get or request an email notification when shipped or delivery due?

I ordered the first day, got the shipping and delivery updates and the tests arrived yesterday as scheduled. It’s a small package - one smallish box with 4 tests in it. At least they have gotten more efficient in the packaging of tests!

I got a confirmation right away but no further communication. Guess they aren’t shipping yet in my area.

Same.

Mine arrived today. Expiration date is 01/2023. What???

See At-Home OTC COVID-19 Diagnostic Tests | FDA for expiration date extensions.

Interesting how some brands of tests have a much longer extended expiration date. A whole year? The tests sent to me this week are only good for four extra months beyond their expiration date. But they were “free,” so not complaining.

Please do check the extended expiration dates. They last a lot longer than the boxes originally indicated, but each brand of test is different.

We ordered ours late last week, and it was in our mailbox yesterday. Well done!

Yes, the extended expiration dates can be a few more days or months or for some a year. If you can’t find your test listed, you can search the web. The Roche covid test I just got from CVS is not listed but a search showed an article where the fda extended its expiration dates from 9 to 12 months.

We now have 26 or so covid tests available. I think we are set. The soonest marked expiration date is 2/2023 but it has been extended to nov or dec 2023. The other tests are supposed to expire in May 2023 but extended to Aug.

My stash of test have all been updated and boxes notated with new expiration dates this morning as my husband needed to test; he woke with a mild headache ans sniffles. Immediate red line, so back to bed he went; I am currently negative.

Like @HImom the Roche test took a bit of searching to find the extended expiration date, but found them under a different name and picture. I believe these were from the covid.gov offer from the first batch; the extended date is February 2023.

I updated my nonprofit’s website to link the fda website to remind folks that the OTC COVID tests have extended expiration dates. Really don’t want folks wasting and tossing tests that are still good.

There’s a member of our synagogue who’s high up on the county Dept of Public Health and has given periodic Zoom updates. In the last one, she advised that if the control line shows up in a test, it’s still good.

That is great that you did that. It annoys me that no one around here is doing any such thing. The cities in my area could do it, their local health departments could do it, the state health department could do it…but no one does. Word isn’t getting out on a national level, either. Many tests will be thrown out because people had no idea the expiration dates were extended.

Just received ours…QuickVue brand. Never heard of this brand, but glad to have them for the holidays!

I will ask our Dept of Health and other nonprofits to update their websites to help get the word out about extended des covid test expiration dates.

did you continue to test Negative. I feel like a crappy cold and so far negative.

Yes, tested again and it was negative. Still using the Binax tests which have a spring 2023 expiration date (and will be okay to use beyond that.) Have not received the new tests, but our PO is very short staffed and overwhelmed.

Got a notice finally saying my tests will arrive Tuesday. Had my booster a few days ago and felt so crappy the two days following was thinking I would have tested had I had any tests left! I actually felt worse than when I had Covid (I was fortunate to have a very mild case).
