<p>I'm an undergrad at the University of Virginia. I'm majoring in economics and commerce (the latter with concentrations in finance and accounting). When I graduate, I'll basically be a year's worth of education away from a CPA. But then, depending on the state, I think you need to spend a year working as an accountant after that to be fully eligible to get the CPA (not sure about that).</p>
<p>Should I get the CPA and then go straight to law school? It might make getting into a top 10 law school easier, and might make securing an internship after the 1st year of law school easier. The downside is that I would have to spend 1-2 years getting the CPA, which means more time and more loans.</p>
<p>Is it worth it?
My GPA hovers around the low 3.8s, if that helps.</p>
