You’re staying with a student – they live at MIT all the time. So your host’s room will be available to you on Sunday night, too.

There’s typically a spot on the CPW registration form where you write when you’re arriving and leaving, so MIT can inform your host, although I’ll admit to not knowing anything about how the logistics are being run this year.

Ya, there is, but underneath that part it says

“Note: overnight accommodations are not available before Thursday, April 8”
and
“Note: overnight accommodations are not available for departure dates after Sunday, April 11.”

“The Office of Admissions coordinates the “CPW Fly-In Program” to facilitate participation for admitted students who may find it difficult to attend CPW. In addition to general assistance with scheduling and other transportation issues, there are also a select number of travel grants, for admitted students, covering the cost of round-trip airfare to and from Boston.”

And just to let you all know - it’s cheap (if annoying) to get from Logan to MIT using public transport. Expect weather that can be pretty much anything. We’ve not gotten a blizzard later than April 1 in my memory, but a bit of the white stuff is marginally possible.
Be sure to have some local ice cream.
But , alas, the Sox are not in town.

Yes there will be free shuttles available. I’m not quite sure what the actual schedule is but I’m sure you’ll see it somewhere in your CPW material.

Er, Mollie might be ok with someone crashing on her floor for an extra day, but I definitely wouldn’t be. We have class on Monday, so if you aren’t going to leave on Sunday when CPW officially ends, you should arrange alternative housing with a friend or someone (or your CPW host, if you know them already). It is pretty rude to show up and say to someone who is doing you a favor ‘oh, by the way, I’m going to be sticking around for an extra night’. My friend’s prefrosh did that to her last year, and none of us were amused or pleased, we were just annoyed that we had to make sure that she got to the airport and got fed and things instead of doing work.

CPW is tiring. We put on an entire weekend of fun for you guys because we really do care about you and want you to have a good time…but you have to give us at least one night of sleep by ourselves before we go back into the fire!

^But I think it would be fair to ask a host via email the week before if he/she would be willing to put up the prefrosh for an extra night, where the host has the ability to say, “No, that doesn’t work for me.”

I’ve already offered to scrounge up a place for Derivate to sleep if one isn’t available on Sunday night. :)
