Creating activities list and awards

When we create this list, should we keep it to a 1 sentence description for each activity? I have heard colleges take that information that you provide and create a summary of you in which they look at. So should I just write a really good 1 sentence description rather than a paragraph? Since they basically make their decisions in 1:30 min?

bump..........

I would suggest that you organize your activities, write them out, write a "blurb" on them. Then edit like crazy. You could organize "events" into themes like the following. It could fit on one page. If you are a musician, athlete, artist, you may have another page organized that deals just with that field. Edit, edit, edit. :)

Your Name

Your Education

Your High School Highlights: top events....
event in bold: then sentence or two on it. etc.

Leadership, Awards, Community Service

Aspirations & Goals

Just some ideas....

which application are you talking about? on the common app, they give spaces to fill in everything...

You should include explanations of activities only if a one sentence "blurb" is not enough to explain it (you know, if it's an obscure activity, etc.)
