Credit Limit issues with registering for band??

So I had orientation yesterday and I registered for 5 3 credit classes (so 15 credits) and after I left I realized i forgot to register for silks for band which requires registering for two one credit rehearsals (so I’d be at 17 total) but when I tried to it told me there was a credit limit of 16? What do i do?

Register for one of them (either should work) and then starting on the first day of classes you can add the other one. I’m not sure which one would be better (I play an instrument in the band so idk about guard things). But by signing up for either you should get emails from the band (early august I think? ), and there will be all kinds of info posted on canvas/elms.

Sorry I’m not very helpful and I dont know much about guard, but I’m happy to answer any questions you have about msom.

Your advisor can also waive the credit maximum for you if you explain the situation. Mine did.

@MDBandGeek where is field practice held MWF from 3-5? My schedule says the performing arts center but do we actually go there or is it somewhere else? Just curious. Also I’m living off campus and I need to tell my landlord when I’m moving in. Do you know when we have to be there in the fall? I know we need to come a week early, right?

@Notredame19 Are you an incoming freshman? When I asked about that they said they wouldn’t waive the limit until the spring when we have an established GPA to show we can handle it.

@acurrey416 I was told we move in august 23 when they called me for filling out an interest form at orientation.

The number was 1301-405-0000. It might be worth it to call it if you have any questions. Also they have a form on the site to get on the mailing list if you haven’t already.

If you’re doing any other performing ensembles you might want to just drop down to 4 classes as that’s another credit you’ll have to add in the fall.

I actually got them to raise my credit limit to 17 so I could register properly. I;m an incoming transfer student for the fall and it was super easy to do.

@Matt846 yeah, I’m an incoming freshman
