hello. I am confused on what exactly these AP credits do. Do they go into your bank of credits necessary to graduate from college? or do they complete certain course requirements that are mandatory each year. I am going to college under the business major. In school this year i take biology and psychology AP and planning on taking both AP tests. Would these science/ Social studies credit benefit me? If so how exactly. From what i know u pay for college on a simester bases not on classes (if iam wrong please let me know) so i would appreciate if someone can explain to me how exactly AP credits contribute to me.

every college is different, so you'll need to check their website. Some schools (usually publics) give full college class credit for an AP 3+; with ~10 AP's you could start with Sophomore standing. Others only give class credit for a 5. Some schools will give distribution credit, but not full class credit. Others cap AP courses at 3.....etc. etc. Some will only give you fulfillment credit of an entry level course, so you can start with the more advanced course. But, since they provide no course credit, you still have to take xx classes to graduate.

mmm.. so basically if i take the AP Bio and psych courses they should fulfill a required science / ss elective? U said how u can take more advanced courses... so in place of a science/ ss class i could take an extra business class? Or do i just end up taking less classes? =( iam still lost.
