DD visited the campus in late June and loved UMD (in state). Shes interested in the Criminology program and potentially double majoring in something else. What are your thoughts about the program? (Good or Bad) What type of internships and summer opportunities are available? Where are students employed after graduation? Add any other information that you think is helpful.

Thanks

Please visit the Criminology program website. [Criminology and Criminal Justice Web Site | ccjs.umd.edu](<a href=“Undergraduate]Criminology | CCJS l Criminology and Criminal Justice Department l University of Maryland”>Undergraduate | CCJS l Criminology and Criminal Justice Department l University of Maryland) . You will find your answers there.

Please also keep in mind that the Criminology program is an Limited Enrollment Program (LEP). If your daughter gets admitted to UMD and not to the program, then she have to complete the requirements to be admitted to the program. Thank you.

We both reviewed the website. I wanted to get information from a student or parent of a student. A website is PR. It doesn’t make kit true.

My son is an incoming freshman for Fall 2013. He was admitted into the Criminology program and even though he also got into both Emory and Tulane, he chose Maryland specifically because of Maryland’s Criminology program. We did a lot of research and Maryland’s Criminology program is considered (by academics in the field) to be the top program in the country. Even though he has yet to take any classes in the program and can’t really address what he thinks about it from experience, he did thoroughly check it out before making his decision.

Hope that helps with your daughter’s decision. Best of luck to her!
