<p>mentions both voluntary gap years for students admitted during the early and regular admission rounds and "Z-list" gap years for students admitted in June contingent on their deferring enrollment for a year. The students interviewed related some interesting examples of gap year activities.</p>

<p>I am so glad schools are publicizing gap years now. I did it and now I have such an amazing focus, and it has helped me so much now that I'm in school again. All my friends when I was abroad were from Britain or germany...I'm glad the US is finally jumping o the bandwagon!</p>
