Hey guys,
yea I got my June SAT scores and they shocked me. I thought I did much better in the critical reading section but did worse than my first SAT and got a 500 on the critical reading. On my november SAT I got a 540. My goal is to get at least a 600 on the critical reading and 700 on the math which I know I can do.

My number one choice has an average SAT of 1950 and only cares about the CR + M. The Average accepted CR is 640 and the Average accepted Math is 680.
Can you guys tell me what I should do over the next three months besides studying vocab (which i actually will do this time) to increase my score. I do horrible in the passage questions.

For math I'm thinking of getting Dr. Chungs Math book and Barrons SAT 25th Edition. Please help!!

The book I used to boost my score by 200ish pts was “Barron’s SAT 2400: Aiming for the Perfect Score.” In addition to vocab lists and the REAL SAT Collegeboard blue book, this book helps to find those little tricks that really help when you’re taking the test. Especially for CR, this book works wonders if you follow the outlined strategies

Oh and also, make sure to take as many practice SATs (offered at libraries, schools, blue book, etc) as possible. Many of the CR questions follow similar patterns, and reading quickly but closely is a skill that only comes with repetition. Practice really does make perfect in the case of the SAT.

I highly advise reading noitaraperp’s guide. It really can help you with your score when paired with a few practice passages. I don’t reccommend Barron’s Critical Reading Workbook, but see if you can get ahold of the old practice tests from before the new SAT. They’re the same. Work with those. There is a stickied thread with links to old SATs. Do those, and see how you do.

can you please send a link to that critical reading guide? i would love to know because im struggling with critical reading. and i would suggest mcgraw hill as well for grammar, cr, and many practice tests.
