Critical reading

I also had the same problem.I used to score in the range of low 500s .What I did ?
I improved my vocabulary A LOT .This helped me understand the passages better and answer the questions that involved hard words in the answer choices.I hadnt been able to answer them before.
I bought the Barron
s ,Princeton Review
s and Gruber
s study guides.I DID all of the practice tests WITHOUT SETTING TIME LIMIT.This is important. You dont need to set a time limit when you are learning. You just need to learn to answer the questions correctly. Then, after you know how to answer them correctly , buy the CB
s blue book and do the practice tests in real tests conditions. This helped a lot.I used to make about 22-26 errors ; now I only make about 8-12 and score in the range of high 600s low 700s which is pretty good considering that I am not native speaker.
I agree that you should only do practice tests from the Blue book. However, there is now reason why you cant do tests from other companies just as practice questions ,without setting time limit - just to get more familiar with the test. The CR questions are the same in every study guide and this strategy can only help you.

I wrote a lot of practice test already, some untimed, and I still get a really bad score. Maybe I do not know where to look to find the answers.

Thanks for the help anyways CR7_ManUtd.

Get the BlueBook, and practice every single question within. Read ALOT. Do Not waste time on ALL vocab flashcards, just study some of them in addition to roots etc
