crucial grad school admission criterion!

Hi all,

I realize that the 3.0 is a standard admission requirement into most graduate programs. If a student has a 4.0 undergraduate gpa and a 2.9 graduate gpa from a one-semester course work in a PhD program in economics, does he/she not satisfy the admission requirement for another graduate program? Even if he/she does, is the hope of financial aid totally lost? Of course, assume an average GRE score for a PhD applicant!

No. It's just standard but 2.9 won't be questioned. It's still a B. It's not the end of the world and it's just one course.
