Hi everyone! I was just wondering if I should apply for computer science through the College of Arts and Sciences or School of Engineering. I’m interested in software engineering and not so much hardware, but does it look better to employers if I go through the School of Engineering? Would the School of Engineering significantly prepare me better to work in the CS field? Thanks!
On paper it really doesn’t matter. I know people who graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences who were able to get jobs at Google, Airbnb, and the like. It’s really up to you as a student to make yourself more marketable through internships, projects, etc. If hardware’s not interesting to you, I’d go for the College of Arts and Sciences
The employers really don’t care which department you are in. The only thing that matters to them is your skills.
