can u pls suggest computer science major at UCSC is better or computer engineering at UCI?
Both are good schools and good programs but they are slightly different in their focus.
What are your career goals?
Are there major cost differences?
Have you compare the major curriculum’s to determine which program will fit your wants and needs?
UCSC and UCI both have very different campus vibes and locations. Have you visited both schools?
What are looking for in your college experience?
Thanks for your reply with valuable points
We looked at both curriculum and see that CE on UCI has more towards electronics and computer science, hardware major and minor towards programming
CS at UCSC goes towards programming major and less towards hardware
my career goal is towards mix of both, 50% each to be able to expand opportunity band at the end of it.
cost is not a factor at this moment, slightly different but not too much.
what i would like to know more is the opportunities at the end of it for each of these. does UCI carry more weight than UCSC at this aspect?
If you are looking at a 50/50 balance between software and hardware, then UCI might be a better option. Both are well known in their own right but opportunities are more about you taking advantage of the resources available at either school. Pick the school which fits you academically, socially and financially.
Thank you
