At the end of the day, unless you get in-country rates for the Canadian schools, nothing is really going to be better than UW value-wise. $23K for one of the top 20 schools in the country for CS. Any other school would have to offer full tuition reimbursement and then some, or maybe even a 100% free situation to be better than the in-state option.
How about for students with strong stats seeking merit, but not quite as high as the OP? I’ve got Case, Pitt, Alabama, Miami of Ohio, Drexel on the list for sure, and UMCP as one that might give merit. But then I have a list of LACS (and a couple universities) that would give good merit, but not sure how to figure out which of these are strong in CS.
Should any of these be cut from the list of possibles for a likely CS major seeking a big merit award?
