CS question

what do you guys think about a CS program thats only Math requirements are Bus Calc and Stat.. obviously not accredited

The school is james madison U and its suppose to be a good school..

<a href="http://www.jmu.edu/catalog/06/Academic_Pro%20files/cs.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.jmu.edu/catalog/06/Academic_Pro%20files/cs.html</a></p>

Do you think graduates can get good jobs/careers??

i guess its better than nothing

I never saw a CS curriculum with such little math. My school's CS program is full of math requirements. CS could be considered math, and always have in mind that more math could mean better understanding of CS.

You left off a few classes:

CS/MATH 227. Discrete Structures I 3
CS/MATH 228. Discrete Structures II 3
MATH 205. Introductory Calculus I
MATH 231. Calculus with Function I
MATH 235. Calculus I
Choose one of the following statistics courses: 3-4
MATH 220. Elementary Statistics
MATH 318. Introduction to Probability and Statistics

So looks like 2 semester of Discrete Math, Calculus, and Intro to stats
Which is actually on the lower side of things as far as CS is concerned but discrete math will be the most important math class anyway. It's interesting that they don't require Calc II and Lin Alg though.
