CS vs. CE vs CS&E

Hey guys,

Which one out of three major has more demanding jobs in bay area. and which school is best for that major. Since UC Davis and UCLA offer a degree in <computer science="" and="" engineering=""> they also offer separate degrees in CS and CE. Which degree is more valuable?
CS, CE or CS&E. I have heard that CE degree person can get a job as programmer but CS degree person cannot get job as an engineer. Please let me know is it useful to do the CS&E major. Thanks for all the help.</computer>

At the undergraduate level, it doesn’t really matter what school you choose for engineering.
You will find plenty of job opportunities with either of those majors, with no problem at all.
No degree is “more valuable”, its all up to what courses you choose to take.

Depending on the program, CE may be more hardware than software which could open up some embedded-systems doors. Again, just look at the courses to decide.

hey guys ,

thanks for the reply I am want to learn the software and the hardware so i will to get in the CS&E program if not then the CE program. Again thanks for the help!

Depending on the curriculum is structured out for the two programs, otherwise take CpE, and take graduate study for either specific field. You can get a master in a year, certainly.
I wouldn’t do CS + EE if it requires extra semester or two.
