Greetings, I was admitted to CSE and am planning on majoring in Electrical Engineering and Comp.Engineering. It looks like the classes all overlap this first year, however I am wondering what my average workload in hours/week will be. I will be takeing Calc I 1371, intro to physics 1301W I believe, the writing class, and another liberal arts class to fulfil the requirement. What would you expect my average weekly workload to be? Thanks
In order to be successful in a rigorous major like EE, consider the CSE workload like a full-time job. A rule of thumb estimate is three hours per week of class & study time for every credit taken. For example, a 15-credit load would entail about 45 hours per week of combined classroom attendance and outside study.
Alright thanks!
@Lucker Is that rule of thumb only for engineering majors because 3 credits of calc would obviously require more effort to get the same grade as say 3 credits of psychology. It would kind of depend on what class.
