Heres the list of the profile schools and which do/don’t require the NCP form.
This student’s issue is needing a TON of aid… a full ride. A CSS school that doesn’t look at NCP income likely won’t give that HUGE aid…unless it’s Vandy or a couple of others.

NDbound. If your colleges require the non-custodial parent Profile, and your NCP does not submit it, your financial, aid, application will be incomplete. The schools will not consider your application for institutional need based aid without the complete application materials.

The problem is this…the mom isn’t going to provide her info, so as far as the school knows, she could be a Bill Gates sort of person…someone with a TON of money. So why would ND give their own aid.
I am sorry that your mom feels that your support is cut off when the courts said it is. But, that’s the way some married parents think as well.
I know that you have had your heart set on ND…you’ve even received an expense-paid trip from ND because you are a tippy top student. If you had asked about this last fall, we would have told you to apply to school like Vandy and others.
OP-not to flog a dead horse, but you have a better shot of reaching out to your mom and developing some sort of relationship, than you do getting a college to believe that you need a waiver given that your mom has paid regular child support and has not disappeared.
I feel for you- what a terrible situation all around. But college financing aside, this might be an opportunity for you to listen to your mom when she tells you how betrayed she felt when you moved in with your dad, and for you to tell your mom how abandoned you felt when she cut off contact (except for financial) with you.
Could be a good thing all around- forget about the money.
But in any event- do you have a practical option for college which might involve living at home and commuting?
Are you saying ypu applied only to highly competitive colleges that guarantee to meet full need? And all require the NCP Profile?
I would very strongly suggest you look very quickly at at least one more affordable option…perhaps, your local public university.
Or as I suggested upstream…if you don’t get the NCP waivers, you may need to consider a gap year, with the goal of applying to schools where you can garner significant merit aid as an incoming freshman NEXT year. I am assuming your SAT or ACT score, and your GPA are competitive for these schools to which you applied. If so, there are a number of schools where merit aid could benefit you. But most of the most generous one have deadlines which have passed for the 2015-2016 school year.
wow ok after receiving a ton of replies I realize that I made a mistake: I should have never come to college confidential or the internet in general. the only people who bother to respond to actual problems are the ones like all of you. you are all the nay-sayers that drag the world down and crush dreams… just because it happened to you and you ended up going to some crappy public school doesnt mean you should get a job to come on here and shoot down kids hopes. I’m going to do what I think is best and see how it turns out because really none of you even make an effort to understand you just come to rant about how you think things should be so you can go to sleep at night and call yourself insightful and helpful. with that being said, I will never be coming onto college confidential again… feel free to reply with however witty a comeback you can spend an hour thinking of… I’m not going to be back on to read it because you all showed that I shouldn’t care what you think.
especially you @fccdad “REAL” problems lol sorry I’m concerned about money and my future
NDbound.
Did you read all the posts? Folks are saying…apply for the NCP waiver at all of your schools. You may get it. You may not. You need a plan B if you cannot get the waiver. That is all folks are saying.
So…apply for the NCP waivers…and see what happens.
But in the meantime, think about what your plan B can be just in case the NCP waivers do not work out. Better to have a plan and not need to use it…than to have no plan and really need one.
I hope everything works out for you. @ndbound2019
Some people have a tough time with honest feedback when it isn’t what they hoped for. Closing thread.
