CSS Profile cars question: not enough space to answer

ALMOST finished filling out the CSS Profile! One of the supplemental questions asks about what cars we own, when we got them, how much we paid for them, etc…and then gives me a box with about 40 characters for my answer. I can’t even fit the makes and models of the cars there, much less all the other info they want. Anyone run into this? What should I do so I can finally be finished with this?!

Abbreviate.

There’s no way to abbreviate enough to actually answer the question in the space provided…maybe if I only include the first letter of every word…

How many cars? You can use the comments section.

3 cars…but there wouldn’t be room to give all the info about even one of them. Where is the comments section?

Toward the end. Reference the question number and add the info. It may still be Part 6, Explanations/Special Circumstances. Throughout the CSS, they refer some questions to this section/ask you to ‘explainn in comments.’ Google may help.

Just wrote the make and the value…e.g. Volvo/$12,000 or whatever. That’s 12 characters…for three cars, you will be under 40.

Tell us the requested info. for just one of the cars, and I will help you abbreviate it.

Give the most important info - the value. I doubt most schools care if it is a Honda Accord or Civic, but they do care if it is a $20k car or a $75k car.

The supplemental section in the profile is visible for all colleges . if you fill out for more than one college, you should send the letter to college that is asking the specific question.
